DJ Khaled signs to Cash Money: “I’ve always been part of Cash Money”

DJ Khaled is going to be screaming “CASH MONEY!” before/after he hollers “WE THE BEST!” on tracks now. Last week Thursday 19th April he announced via twitter that he has officially part of Cash Money Records. The producer/DJ told VIBE Magazine he’s always felt like a part of the collective, headed by Birdman.

“It’s definitely official, and I’m just excited about the new deal with Cash Money. Shout to Birdman, Slim. And free Weezy.” Khaled told VIBE. “You know, I’ve always been a Cash Money member, not officially but I’ve been a fan forever.”

“Birdman always loved my work and passion. We’ve known each other for years, and he’s always told me when you fulfill your contract with E1 you always got a home over here,” Khaled explained. “I was going to sign myself, but I called Birdman and he said ‘let’s get the deal done in an hour.’ He just wanted to make it happen.”

Khaled’s first album under Cash Money Records is tentatively entitled We The Best Forever and is scheduled for an early 2011 release. There’s no word on what features to expect, but the producer, who’s known for getting the whole scene on a record, has been working with T.I. in the last week and I’m sure it wouldn’t be a stretch to expect Wayne, Drake or Nicki Minaj on his forthcoming project.
