Curren$y talks ‘Push Thru’ and rumored project with Wiz Khalifa x Big Sean [Video]

Fuse TV caught up with Curren$y to find out what happened to his rumored mixtape with fellow smokers Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean and to get the scoop on “Push Thru,” his collaboration with Talib Kweli and Kendrick Lamar.

Spitta says that the Wiz and Sean project was never intended to be an actual mixtape, but that the trio was just doing music for the love of it. If it were meant to be an official project, he says, he would have said something about it.

“I never said anything,” he says. “I never said ‘look out for a new song tomorrow,’ I never said anything. Every day it was just another song. Then there just wasn’t no more songs and people just got butt-hurt about it.”

Still, Spitta says that a mixtape is do-able, but each of them has a hectic schedule and coming together to get it finished is easier said than done.

“Everybody so busy, man, know what I’m sayin’? I guess when everybody get a second to get in the studio, we’ll probably knock out some more joints.”

Known for having one of the most strenuous work ethics in the game, Spitta also explained the very random fashion in which the eclectic collaboration “Push Thru” came to be.

“Talib is a sorcerer and he’s always crafting little spells. … He came through and was like ‘meet me at such-and-such studio; we’re gonna do this record.’ Then the next day he’s like, ‘Kendrick’s gonna get on the record.’ I was like, ‘OK.'”

Then a year passed, they shot the video and put it out. Simple, right?

Curren$y tells the story much better than I do, so hear it straight from the stoner’s mouth below.
