The video for ‘One More Lie (Standing In Shadows)’ was shot in Miami and directed by Rage. The photo at the top of this article is an official still from the new video, which premieres on The Sun‘s website on Thursday 21st January 2010.
“Literally in a week and a half’s time, we’ll have a finished album!” the British singer announced this week. “We wanted to do a record that allowed me to record and perform songs that I’ve always wanted to sing, but really didn’t have the opportunity to before as I was constantly writing new material. It’s given me the chance to be able to do more classic songs that I love from this amazing era”
“People don’t always realise that Motown was about songs that came purely off the Motown Records label, it wasn’t a genre or a style. They had so many amazing artists, from Marvin Gaye to Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and The Temptations… to be able to sing those songs as well as having new songs on the album that I’ve written too feels really good. Really looking forward to you all hearing it.”

When I saw that Craig David was making a Motown album I had to cringe, but after listening to the track, I gotta say it’s not bad. Motown is played out but he flips it just enough to make it unique.
Not a CD fan, and I don’t like this first single.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say this will be a flop, commercially and critically. Recycling Motown, and other 60s/70s soul, has been done to death, so unless you are bringing something fresh to the table I think the retro soul cash cow is well and truly dead (then again what do I know, the mainstream will probably go mad for it without even realising who The Four Tops are!)
