Common talks The Dreamer, The Believer LP, joint album with Nas + more [Video]

In an exclusive in-depth interview with HardKnockTV, Chicago emcee Common speaks on his forthcoming album The Dreamer, The Believer, due out on November 22nd. Common explains how the organic chemistry between him and producer No I.D. helped create the “sound and vibe” that Common was looking for on this project. Also, the album will not be released via the G.O.O.D. Music label, though Common does clarify that there is no bad blood between him, Kanye, and the G.O.O.D. camp.

Common also addresses rumors of him doing a full-length project with rapper Nas. Originally, the two decided on doing a mixtape together, entitled Nas (dot) Com, but they now have changed their minds. After they each release their solo albums, they will release a collaborative album together.

Aside from being a rapper, Common has also been known for his acting career. He delves into how acting has helped “free him up” as a musician and to put too much pressure on his music. It has helped him approach music as something he loves and enjoys to do, rather than just for a living.
