MTV has compiled a series of clips of the Kanye West-led band of brothers known as G.O.O.D. Music talking shop on topics including future projects, working together and improving their craft.

Unlike many manufactured crews composed of artists with preexisting followings, the team at G.O.O.D. Music doesn’t have a roster full of conflicting egos. Instead, the Grammy Family sees their collective experience and myriad skills as a resource from which to learn and improve.

“To be around the talent guys that I’m around, it’s humbling,” says the team’s Atlanta rep CyHi The Prynce. Through their connection with West, the team is also exposed to world-class talent like Jay-Z and Beyoncé, and CyHi says that exposure gives the newer guys like himself the chance to soak up some of their game. “The musical people that we’re around…we get to study them.”

Even the more veteran members of the crew admit that they’re constantly learning. Pusha T was a respected lyricist before ever linking with G.O.O.D. Music, but he says that being on the team has taught him how to take his skills to the next level.

“I learned so much from ‘Ye about just finding the most colorful parts of your rhymes and editing it down and making sure all the pop parts of your rhyme are like right in your face,” he said.

As far as future projects go, next up for the crew is the already highly-anticipated Cruel Summer project, news of which broke shortly after West debuted the film of the same name at February’s Cannes Film Festival.

“We’ve been workin’ on, just, numerous verses — everybody — and now it’s time for ‘Ye to maestro it all together,” Pusha explains.

“This ain’t somethin’ we just threw together,” CyHi says of the project. “It ain’t nothin’ where a whole buncha beats were emailed over; these are ideas that we actually creatively came up with and we’re exercising them right now.”

Considering the team’s intense focus, open-mindedness and trust of each other, the fact that G.O.O.D. Music is really feeling themselves should come as no surprise.

“G.O.O.D. Music is the best team out there — lyrically, bar-for-bar, song-for-song, concept-for-concept. We are the world,” CyHi boasts. “We could take it to a cypher, we can take it on a record — it don’t matter. We’re the best.”

‘Nuff said.
