Clive Davis, Diddy + Alicia Keys pay respect to Whitney Houston at Pre-Grammy Party [Video]


Last night in the wake of Whitney Houston‘s untimely death, producer, legendary music exec and Houston’s mentor Clive Davis‘ annual pre-Grammy Award party was due to be cancelled out of the respect for the late singer and her family. However, at the request of Whitney Houston’s mother, the event went ahead with Bad Boy Records’ CEO Sean CombsAlicia Keys and Clive Davis himself all paying homage to the late six time Grammy Award winning singer.

Leading the tributes was Houston’s long time mentor Clive Davis with a heartfelt an emotional speech. “I don’t have to mask my emotions… I do have a very heavy heart and I am personally devastated by the loss of someone who has meant so much to me for so many years.”

He continued, “Whitney was so full of life. She loved music and she loved this night that celebrates music.”

Before asking for a moment of silence the music executive added, “Whitney was a beautiful person and she had a talent beyond compare. She graced this stage with her regel presence so many times, giving so many memorable performances over the years.

“Whitney would have wanted the music to go on and her family asked that we carry on.”
