Cinematic Music Group sign partnership deal with Sony Red Entertainment | Music News

Since its inception in 2009, Cinematic Music Group have grown to become of the leading independent labels in hip-hop. The brand, founded by former Bad Boy and Epic Records employee Jonny Shipes, has helped to nurture the careers of Nipsey Hussle, Big K.R.I.T. and Smoke DZA. But Cinematic are looking to take their brand to the next level by signing a partnership deal with Sony Red Entertainment.

Thankfully, the deal has no impact upon its roster of artists, but will allow CMG to tap into Sony’s distribution and marketing services, expanding its reach in label services, management, touring and merchandising.

Be on the lookout for plenty of material to come from the Cinematic Music camp in the near future, with its signees Joey Bada$$, Pro Era, Fat Trel, Cashius Green and, of course, Big K.R.I.T. and Smoke DZA all working on new projects.
