Chris Brown’s Fortune album release pushed back to July | Music News

After hitting the No.1 spot in the UK charts recently with “Turn Up The Music” you’d think Chris Brown was in a prime position to release his fifth studio album, Fortune. However, Brown has taken to his Twitter to announce that the original May 8th release date will now be pushed back by two months, and the album will be released on July 3rd.

Although this may come as a blow to his committed fanbase who were so close to getting their hands on the new album, strategically, this may be the wisest move for the singer, as it will allow him more time to dedicate to promoting the project. With the Billboard Music Awards taking place May 20th, where Brown will be nominated for Best Male Artist and Best R&B Artist, and the BET Awards thought to be happening at the end of June, this could be exactly what he needs for great first week album sales.
