Chief Keef makes debut New York performance at SOB’s [Video]

Chief Keef has had some year. Fresh off his signing to the major label powerhouse Interscope (home also to 50 Cent, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar), which was helped largely by a co-sign from Kanye West and his G.O.O.D. Music allies with their remix of his “I Don’t Like” hit, the teenage rapper finally ventured East to make his debut performance in the birthplace of hip-hop, New York City.

Held at the city’s SOB’s hotspot, Keef charged through his collection of hits and, judging by the footage below courtesy of RealTalkNY, had the place rocking. I’m sure the clip doesn’t give the madness justice when “I Don’t Like” began blaring through the venue’s speakers.

I guess this means New York crowds are no longer hostile towards non-lyrical rap, right? As Big K.R.I.T. detailed in an interview a few years ago, OutKast (yeah, OutKast) were apparently booed off stage during an appearance in the Big Apple in their time.
