Carl Thomas – “Don’t Kiss Me” | New Music

Well, here is a pleasant surprise. I used to absolutely murder Carl Thomas’ Emotional set back in his Bad Boy Records days. And now here he is with a new track “Don’t Kiss Me” – and there’s a new album on the way too, called Conquer. Produced by Rico Love, “Don’t Kiss Me” is very much a throwback ’70s Soul jam, drawing huge influence from the Philadelphia soul sound that was around at the time, led by people like Teddy Pendergrass, Billy Paul and The O’Jays to name but a few.

If he leans more towards this sound, it could be refreshing break from the synth driven drivel we hear nowadays as well as nostalgic for all of us that had his debut album. Showing my age much!?
