Boogie Down Productions member Ms. Melodie has died at age 43. The cause of death is currently unknown.

Melodie (real name Ramona Parker) rose to hip-hop fame in 1988 with the release of her first single, “Hype According to Ms. Melodie”, and followed a year later with her debut album, Diva, released on Jive/RCA Records. She was closely associated with the celebrated Bronx-based outfit Boogie Down Productions, and was married to the group’s frontman KRS-One, until the couple’s divorce in 1992.
