Bobby Brown – ‘Don’t Let Me Die’ | New Music

Guess who’s back?

R&B bad boy Bobby Brown gets it crackin’ once again with “Don’t Let Me Die,” the lead single from his forthcoming comeback album The Masterpiece.

While last year’s leak of “Get Out the Way” had B. Brown fans salivating for a new album only to never see the project materialize, “Don’t Let Me Die” reportedly really is the lead single to the new album, and the album really is supposed to be coming out in less than a month. For real.

About the album, Brown said in a press release that he’s “hoping to bridge the gap between good old R&B and R&B of today.”

“I simply wanted to create a body of work that will take listeners on a musical journey; the style of music that will allow people to get in touch with their highs and lows and their joys and pain of living through song,” the statement also said.

As for the song itself… mehh. It’s slow, it’s short and it’s kinda somber. A far cry from the bouncy, dancefloor-crowding hits of Bobby’s early-to-mid-90s heyday.

But who knows, maybe he’s saving the best stuff for the actual album release, which is scheduled for June 5 (which is a week-and-a-half before his Hawaiian wedding).

Check it out for yourself, and while you’re at it, take a look at The Masterpiece‘s tentative tracklisting below.
