BLU talks creative control on ‘No York’ album + new Exile Collaboration album [Video]

West Coast emcee and producer, Blu recently sat down with Hard Knock TV’s Nick Huff Barili for an in-depth interview to give us more details and insight into his forthcoming major label debut album ‘No York’ which is scheduled to be released in the Summer via Warner Bros. amongst other things. In the clip below which is the first part of Blu’s interview with Hard Knock TV, Blu reveals that the album will include collaborations from Flying Lotus, Daedalus, Shafiq Husayn (and Sa-Ra Creative Partners), Madlib, Knowledge, Bilal, J*Davey, Edan, Nolan Darling and many more.

He also sheds light on the direction of the new album – “electric Hip-Hop”, how he has been digging and trying to get into that kind and feel of music for a while now and how the label, Warner Bros. pretty much let him do that on ‘No York’. Without giving any details on the title or getting into specifics, Blu also confirms that we will definitely be getting a ‘Blu and Exile’ collaboration album while shutting down existing rumours that the collaborative album will be called ‘Below the Heaven Part 2’
