Billboard Music Awards 2011: Live Stream


After a five year hiatus, the annual Billboard Music Awards take place tonight, May 22, airing live on ABC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas between 8-11pm ET/PT.

Hosted by Community actor and comedian Ken Jeong, this year’s awards feature 46 categories including Top Artist, Top New Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Rap Song, Top Digital Songs Artist and Top Touring Artist, plus a public voted Fan Favourite Award.

Rihanna, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber are among the top nominated artists at this year’s awards, which take into account sales data, radio airplay, streaming data, social media consumption and tour grosses.

Performances of the night are to include Mary J Blige and Lil Wayne linking up for their single “Someone to Love Me,” from Blige’s forthcoming My Life II: The Journey Continues, along with live collaborations by Pitbull with Usher and Nayer; and Far*East Movement with Ryan Tedder and Snoop Dogg.

Other acts set to hit the stage tonight include Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Keith Urban, Taio Cruz, Cee Lo Green, Lady Antebellum, Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha and OneRepublic.

With extra special nods of recognition, Beyoncé will be honoured the 2011 Billboard Millennium Award for her career achievements with an all-star tribute and salutes from First Lady Michelle Obama, Barbra Streisand, Lady Gaga, Bono and Stevie Wonder; whilst Neil Diamond will receive the 2011 Billboard Icon Award and perform live at tonight’s event.
