Big Sean says sophomore album will be released in September | Music News

Having scooped three nominations at the 2012 BET Awards (Best Collaboration [“Marvin & Chardonnay” featuring Kanye West and Roscoe Dash], Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Best New Artist), Big Sean took to the channel’s flagship show 106 & Park, where he revealed some welcoming news for his fans.

His sophomore album, currently untitled, will be released sometime in September, following his G.O.O.D. Music crew’s compilation LP Cruel Summer, which is expected to arrive – you guessed it – this Summer.

“I’m coming September for my next album,” he said. “Ain’t no point in waiting around man, I got a generation to represent and a city to represent and people to represent.”

Sean also noted he’ll be releasing mixtape material on top of that, and additionally discussed his aforementioned nomination honours, being in the studio with Lil Wayne, Birdman, Kanye, Nas, Royce Da 5’9″, Eminem and Ludacris as his career goes from “surreal to so real” (he needs to patent that) and his early tours with the likes of Wale and Tyga in the interview.
