Beyonce no longer managed by father, Mathew Knowles: “Business is business and family is family”

Having been managed by him throughout her career – from her Destiny’s Child‘s beginnings to her solo success to date – chart-topping, 16 time Grammy Award winning superstar Beyonce has announced that she and her father Mathew Knowles have parted ways “on a business level,” via a statement released on Monday through her publicist to The Associated Press.

“I’ve only parted ways with my father on a business level,” said Beyonce. “He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me… I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps.”

Calling the split “mutual,” today Mr Knowles issued his own statement indicating his intention to focus on the gospel roster of his record label and management company, Music World Entertainment, which will also remain involved with Destiny’s Child.

“We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment,” says Mathew. “Currently, I am very focused on the tremendous investment that our record label has made in the gospel/inspirational genre of music and on our supremely talented roster of artists, including Trin-i-tee 5:7, Brian Courtney Wilson, Juanita Bynum, Micah Stampley, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Pastor Rudy and others.”

“Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success.”

Although there’s been no official word on who Beyonce’s new manager will be, speculation has already began that husband Jay Z‘s Roc Nation might take up this new position.
