Beanie Sigel to embark on ‘Pre-Prison Tour’ | Music News

Before he heads to jail to begin his two-year sentence on tax evasion charges next month, Beanie Sigel will be hitting the road to promote his forthcoming album This Time.

AllHipHop reports that the Philadelphia MC will embark on the “Pre-Prison Tour” on August 16th, a five-date jaunt that will include appearances on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and 106 & Park to promote his forthcoming LP This Time and its lead single “The Reunion” featuring State Property members Young Chris, Peedi Crakk and Omilio Sparks.

The album will serve as the first release from the recently re-established Ruffhouse Records, which had been defunct for over a decade. The label launched the careers of acts such as Kriss Kross, The Fugees and Cypress Hill.

“We’re extremely proud to be re-launching Ruffhouse Records with Beanie Sigel as our first artist,” Ruffhouse CEO Chris Schwartz said in a press release. “Beanie is truly one of the great lyricists in the hip-hop game. He stands tall among all the major MCs and he’s revered by all hip-hop aficionados around the world.”

This Time drops August 28th, mere weeks before Sigel is scheduled to begin his prison term on September 12th.
