Azealia Banks announces release date for ‘1991’ EP | Music News

Harlem MC Azealia Banks took to Twitter this morning to announce the release date of her debut EP 1991. Sandwiched by tweets about her new nemesis T.I. — one about how she thinks she’d fare in a battle with him and another about her general opinion on the Grand Hustle boss — the 1991 tweet reveals an April 17 target for the new project.

The project’s title seems to be a reference to the 20-year-old Interscope signee’s birth year.

Banks was recently an opening act on the 12-date NME Awards Tour and will headline her own 11-date tour of the UK beginning in September. Her full-length debut, tentatively titled Broke With Expensive Taste, is due later this year.
