Asaad’s young career has been fraught with enough hurdles for you to mistake him for a Hip-Hop veteran. From deals with both G-Unit/Interscope and Atlantic falling through, high-profile beefs, to an infamous artwork release, Asaad took refuge late last year but now returns with his sophomore release Flowers II.

It’s easy to write off an artist with so many omissions, but with the catalogue Asaad has been crafting since his 2009 debut Flowers, it’s become harder and harder to ignore the Philly emcee. Flowers II maintains Asaad’s dark yet soulful soundscape with production from the likes of Nascent, Tae Beast and Sunny Norway, while Ab-Soul and King Louie accompany his murky wordplay for his eight project.

Check out Flowers II down below and find out why Philadelphia’s Asaad is possibly one of the best rappers you’ve never heard of.
