The late Amy Winehouse who tragically died this summer, has achieved the biggest weekly sales of her UK chart career last week with the posthumous album release Lioness: Hidden Treasures taking the top spot on the album chart at No. 1. With 194,000 units sold. According to the OCC (Official Charts Company), Winehouse’s set made its winning start as the top four titles on the album chart all recorded six-figure sales.

Winehouse’s mother Janis also commented on the chart triumph saying: “It’s such amazing news that Amy’s album has gone to No. 1, and just goes to show what she still means to people.” £1 from the sale of each album is being donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Definitely a great way to honour a truly talented star from our generation.
