Amy Winehouse photographed by Hedi Slimane [Portrait Set]

Although we have already witnessed tributes in the form of music and words, we have here an offering of the visual form from French fashion designer and friend of Amy Winehouse, Hedi Slimane.

What I particularly like about these set of snaps is that they show an Amy Winehouse who was a little moodier, something that was tied up in her music, but also the vulnerability of someone who was regarded as a genius and the voice of her generation. The starkest of shots are the ones where she seems rather spaced out.

Although it isn’t known exactly when this shoot was taken, it’s clear that Amy’s influence was more than just musical and she had an impact on the world of fashion, as is apparent from the huge names such as Karl Lagerfeld that took her look to the catwalk after she came with her revamped style, beehive and all, in the Back to Black era.

RIP Amy.
