Amy Winehouse cancels full European Tour | Music News

It’s official. A spokesman for Amy Winehouse gave the news many of us were expecting following a disastrous opening night in Serbia on Saturday, June 18, the troubled “Rehab” singer has cancelled the rest of her European summer tour, which was due to run until August 15.

Chris Goodman says Winehouse “is withdrawing from all scheduled performances,” following a prior announcement of two cancelled shows in Istanbul and Athens, report Associated Press.

Despite several reports of Amy Winehouse cleaning up her act and performing a near flawless set in London’s Club 100 a few days ago, it seems like it was wayyyyy to early to let Amy out of rehab. At the start of her European tour in Belgrade’s Kalemegdan Park, Amy appeared on stage to the sounds of “Just Friends” clearly off her face. Attempting to take off her shoes (Lord knows why) she immediately falls over, gets back up stumbles around, mumbles some words to the song and attempts to shoutout her band members (forgetting most of their names). Watch the “performance.”

A statement said: “Winehouse would like to say sorry to fans expecting to see her in Turkey and Greece, but “feels that this is the right thing to do… Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home.”
