The American Music Awards 2010 took place last night in LA. Big winners of the night were Justin Beiber, who walked away with 3 of the 4 awards he was nominated for (including Artist of the Year), and Usher, who scooped Favourite Soul/R&B Album for Raymond v. Raymond, and Favourite Male Soul/R&B Artist. All awards are voted for by the audience, which explains many of the night’s wins.

Performances came from acts including P!nk, Usher, Black Eyed Peas, Santana, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, New Kids On The Block x The Backstreet Boys, Taylor Swift and Rihanna (above) who opened the show with a medley of Loud album cuts, “What’s My Name,” “Love The Way You Lie,” and “Only Girl In The World.” The show was reported to be a little lacklustre, and most of the performances were a sonic nightmare, with acts going off-key and out of tune. Also highlighted by last night’s show was the integration of European dance music in America’s current pop scene. Check out the full list of winners below:
