Adele tops The Sunday Times ‘Richest Young Musicians’ list | Music News

If you thought Adele‘s voice was rich, you see her bank account.

The soulful 23-year-old songstress is officially the UK’s most wealthy recording artist under the age of 30 after topping The Sunday Times‘ recently-released list of “The Richest Young Musicians.”

According to a preview of the full-length The Sunday Times Rich List 2012, Adele’s £20 million fortune puts her £8 million ahead of her nearest challengers — second place is a three-way tie between singer Leona Lewis, singer/songwriter Katie Melua and Cheryl Cole of female pop quintet Girls Aloud — and marks a £14 million increase in personal wealth from a year prior.

Adele’s second and most recent album, 21, was a tremendous success, earning a stunning six Grammy awards in one night, multiplatinum sales certifications in both the UK and US and a few nods in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Apparently, 21 has also earned Adele gobs of cash.
