A$AP Rocky talks working with Lana Del Rey, ‘LongLiveA$AP’ collaborations + more

The internet pretty much belonged to A$AP Rocky and Lana Del Rey yesterday with the release of both the “National Anthem” video (which co-starred the pair as John F. Kennedy and Jackie O, respectively) and “Ridin’“, the second single from Rocky’s upcoming debut album, LongLiveA$AP, which featured Ms. Rey.

In an interview with Noisey‘s Andy Capper, who lent a hand in the making of his “Wassup” video, Rocky elaborated on the aforementioned “National Anthem” video, discussing how the idea came about and his experiences of shooting the short-film.

“Lana wrote the treatment with me in mind. She wanted me to be the lead guy,” he said. “Shit is like, everybody knows we got a thing for each other and we wanted to show that on screen.

“Anthony Mandler shot [the video] with some old cameras and shit to get the 1960s look and they had a set of extras. They had so many extras there, Interscope paid so much fucking money for this video that it’s not even true.”

Speaking on the hot topic of the chemistry between him and Lana, Rocky said: “She looked like Jackie O, and I was kissing the shit out of her all day and shit… I was like squeezing on her buns and all that shit. Doing all that perverted shit. That was the fun part.”

He denies the more-than-obvious rumours that he and the singer could become intimately involved, though.

“I used to wanna do her, I used to wanna bone her but after this video I don’t like her like that no more, I just think she’s cool, know what I’m sayin?”

In the interview, the A$AP Mob chief also touched on his debut LP, revealing that Waka Flocka Flame and Pharrell will feature (contrary to his zero A-Lister claims just a few days earlier) and that the new single “Ridin'” is in fact called “My Bitch”.

LongLiveA$AP is due out on September 11th.
