50 Cent f/ Too $hort – “First Date” | New Music

50 Cent just took to his Twitter to release a new song from his forthcoming album, Street King Immortal.

The follow-up to first single “New Day”, “First Date” sees Fiddy return to old, bedroom-oriented themes and employ his secret weapon, that amateur sounding croon of his, to get there. Whilst it’s not the most memorable track, trademark trumpets and a laid-back, bouncy beat carry the track along nicely, and so do 50’s nonchalant rhymes.

The real treat however comes from Oakland rap legend Too $hort. The West Coast icon, whose breakthrough came at the tale end of the 80s with the funky Life is… Too Short, kept himself busy last year helping relative younguns Snoop and Wiz Khalifa sell records. Here he lends Fifty a randy, expletive-filled verse. Some rappers never grow old.
