50 Cent announces album release date | Music News

After a couple starts and stops, 50 Cent has finally announced a release date for his next, as-yet-untitled album.

The G-Unit boss took to his Twitter account today and revealed that the new album will be released July 2, four days before his 37th birthday. The MC says he’ll talk with his boss Dr. Dre about the album today.

Back in July 2011, a disgruntled 50 Cent cancelled his in-progress album and said he wouldn’t put out another due to issues with Interscope. He even threatened to leak Dr. Dre’s single, “Psycho,” the next day. Turned out to be an empty threat, though, as Fif relented and said later in the day that he wouldn’t leak the record because Dre and Jimmy Iovine had “done nothing but help my career.”

As for the album’s title, Fif has already scrapped Black Magic as a possibility, so we’ll have to wait and see what he finally decides to call it.
