2 Live Crew to reunite | Music News

Best known for party hits – “Pop That Coochie” and Me So Horny” [whose lyrics go a little something like “Ahh! Me so horny! Me love you long time!”] and political single “Banned In The U.S.A.,” raunchy Miami rap group 2 Live Crew have reunited and will be returning to the stage this summer in a series of live dates.

Rapper Luther “Luke” Campbell, 51, recently announced the news while promoting a short film called The Life and Freaky Times of Uncle Luke at the Sundance Festival over the weekend.

“We’re going to perform the songs and everybody’s going to be excited. Some of the older people of our generation will be able to tell their kids, ‘You’re staying home tonight, we’re going to see 2 Live Crew and shake our booty!'” Campbell told the Associated Press. “I just can’t wait to just start practicing. That’s going to be a blast.”

The rap group gained renowned success and notoriety with their 1989 album As Nasty As They Wanna Be, which culminated in the arrest of three of the groups members on charges of obscenity.
