1982 (Statik Selektah & Termanology) f/ Freddie Gibbs x Crooked I – “Make It Out Alive” | New Music

There’s really no excuse for sleeping on Statik Selektah. Having laid roots in the scene in recent years with epic compilation albums like 100 Proof: The Hangover and more recently, 2011’s Population Control, the Boston-bred DJ-producer has been one of few bridging the gap between the buzzing underground and the exciting mainstream. Who else can claim they’ve coupled Action Bronson and Bun B or paired Reks with Pill?

Having recently announced the upcoming album from 1982 (the duo comprised of Statik Selektah and his emcee protege Termanology, taking the name from their shared years of birth) entitled 2012, the Massachusetts partnership bring forth the first leak from their presidential-referencing project with “Make It Out Alive”, recruiting Young Jeezy‘s right-hand man Freddie Gibbs and Slaughterhouse‘s Californian crew member Crooked I for their campaign.

2012 is set to be released on May 22nd via ShowOff / ST. Records and serves as the follow up to 1982’s self-titled EP from 2010. Peep the new song below and check out the full tracklist after the jump.
