Nicki Minaj checks in to the world’s most dangerous morning show, New York’s Power 105.1′s Breakfast Club, to discuss her new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded- The Re-Up, her reality TV series ‘Nicki Minaj: My Truth‘, American Idol and more. Chatting to DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God, three of hip hop radio’s most entertaining radio personalities, Nicki has plenty to say, and gives an honest, no-holds-barred interview.
First the Young Money star offers some interesting insights on the way her E! reality TV was edited, the launching of her new record label, and on what inspires her to pen more introspective cuts like “Moment For Life” and “Freedom“, before she accuses the Breakfast Club of being lazy for failing to have watched the video for the latter track.
“I’m gonna start holding you guys responsible and up to a certain standard, if other artists want to come up here and be fake I’m not doing it anymore.,” she said. “If y’all gonna interview me at least give me the respect to do some research prior to the interview… I’m not here for your entertainment, I’m here to talk about something and you guys know what I’m here to talk about.”
So whilst there’s plenty of laughter throughout the interview, there are also some slightly sticky moments. Watch for yourself below.
