When an artist achieves a certain level of success they tend to sign other artists to their own respective record label imprints – and now Wiz Khalifa has gone on to sign rapper and video model Lola Monroe to his very own Taylor Gang Records. In a recent interview with veteran radio disk jockey Greg Street on Atlanta’s V-103, Lola Monroe, who is of duel Ethiopian and Trinidadian origin, made the announcement.
“We got it in with Taylor Gang. We Taylored now,” she stated. Explaining how the she and Young Wiz linked up, Lola said, “Wiz is like a positive free individual that’s about his business and that matches everything I’ve created on my side.”
“When he reached out, he was like, ‘I feel as though our movements represent the same thing, so I want you to rep Taylor Gang.’ And I agreed, so it’s only right. Plus, out of all the situations that came to me, my business instincts and just the comfort level, I felt it was just the right move with him. He’s a stand-up dude and it just felt right.”
According to reports Lola, who used to go by the name of Angel Lola Luv, is currently working on her debut album and is preparing to drop a fresh new single in November.
