Here he goes again.
Controversial rapper Lil’ B has a history of beefing with other artists, as he clearly states in the opening line of his new diss track aimed towards SoulCulture 13 For 13 tipped New Yorker Joey Bada$$.
The song – aptly named “I’m The Bada$$” – comes as a retaliation to Joey’s song “Survival Tactics” from last year where a shot is taken at Lil’ B. Biding his time to come back with a diss track, Lil’ B drops it just as Joey’s currently riding on a high.
Lil’ B opens the song by laughing about the idea of “these n*ggas think[ing] they badasses now huh?” before letting rip on the rest of the track with lyrics like, “Who got the heart to shine through the dark/ Lil’ B bitch, call me Lil Boss/ And if you really think you a bada$$/ I turn ya into trash ya lil bitch”
This all started with the release of “Survival Tactics” in early 2012, which now has nearly 2 million views. And the lyric in question that got Lil’ B riled up? “They say hard work pays off/Well tell the Based God don’t quit his day job.” However, the lyric was actually said by Capital STEEZ who featured on the track, and not Joey.
Listen to the diss track below.
Since the song dropped, it seems to have made its way to Joey Bada$$’s ears as he addresses it on Twitter saying this:
“Don’t let me ether this nigga yo!! Truthfully basedgod, your not worth the time.. Im glad eye was tho.. Im about to blaze to this shit, cant believe the basedgod dedicated his appreciation for me on a song! So amped. If i was to diss this nigga im gettin DMX on the hook, game on the adlibs, joe budden verse 2 and the nigga who knocked him out to.”
And Lil’ B’s reply? “JOEY YOU NEED TO THANK ME FOR HELPING YOU TREND AROUND THE WORLD – Lil B.”
So then Joey took the mic to respond and the results can be listened to HERE
