A Lil Wayne feature on Game‘s new material was inevitable (Weezy has featured on all of Game’s last three albums). For his newest single “F.I.V.E.” it’s been announced that Jayceon has nabbed both the Young Money rapper and Chris Brown as the guest artists.
Producer of the track Sap (credits for Mac Miller, Meek Mill and more) revealed the news in an interview with XXL.
“I actually produced this record for Game called ‘F.I.V.E.,’ featuring Chris Brown and Lil Wayne,” he said. “That should be dropping anytime now. Supposedly it’ dropping Memorial Day Weekend, but I’m not sure.”
Speaking on the single’s soundscape, Sap added: “It’s definitely got an East Coast style a little bit—it kind of reminds you of how [Meek Mill's] ‘Real’ joint is. It’s not a South beat. It’s more of an up tempo beat, but it’s not a club record. It’s more of a traditional hip-hop beat, like a hard sample. It’s Game’s style but it’s still something you can hear Wayne on, too.”
“F.I.V.E.” is set to serve as the first single from Game’s forthcoming fifth studio album, also entitled F.I.V.E. (Fear Is Victory’s Evolution), which may surface later this year.
