This year’s GRAMMY awards was a mixed bag for Frank Ocean. On the positive side he took home GRAMMYs for Best Urban Contemporary Album (for his debut album channel ORANGE) and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (for his collaboration with JAY Z and Kanye West on “No Church In The Wild”, taken from the Watch The Throne LP), but on the less positive note his much hyped performance of the channel ORANGE highlight and next single “Forrest Gump” failed to impress the masses due to less than perfect vocals and pitch issues.
The acclaimed singer-songwriter took to twitter soon afterwards to explain the sound issues stating,
i had fun last night. couldn’t hear my keyboards during Forrest. kinda bummed about that. but my moms was proud. she’s tight. i’m grateful.
