Last night Lupe Fiasco took to the stage in NYC to perform a special rendition of “Battle Scars” alongside Australian R&B singer Guy Sebastian and Chicago’s own Verzatile Band.
The performance was the highlight of the album launch for Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Story and followed hot on the heels of Lupe and Guy’s appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman two days ago.
Lupe has just announced that the second instalment of Food and Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album (that is, Part Two), will be released in Spring 2013 and is currently keeping busy promoting the project as a whole. For a full review of the superb Pt.1, click click here.
This is a particularly lively version of “Battle Scars,” the motivational ballad from Pt.1. Whilst Lupe channelled his best rock-star impression, backed by fierce live drums, Sebastian provided a brilliant and stirring vocal performance. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, the band were able to chuck into the mix some quite brilliant guitar and sax solos. Unsurprisingly, the crowd were going absolutely mad by the end.
