After spending a long time campaigning for Spike Lee to direct a video for his track “Praying Man”, it appears as if Big K.R.I.T. has finally had some success in convincing the legendary director.

Told from the perspective of three different slaves, all of whom have unknowingly met their demise, “Praying Man” hears each slave visited by a praying man who is set to collect their souls to take to heaven. Featured on K.R.I.T.’s 2012 debut album Live From The Underground, the Mississippi emcee/producer expressed interest in creating visuals to accompany the song but only if Spike Lee directed it. After a long Twitter campaign with a hashtag message reading:

It appears as if the message finally got through to Lee and the two have discussed the potential for the short film over the phone. With no word of a date or any other information, Spike Lee thanked the fans for getting the two artists together.
