Trayvon Martin’s parents respond to George Zimmerman’s apology: “It is not sincere” [Video]

Yesterday, George Zimmerman granted Fox’s Sean Hannity his first non-court-related interview since the killing of Trayvon Martin on February 26th. In the hour-long discussion, which aired last night at 9pm EST, Zimmerman offered an apology to the parents.

Today, Trayvon’s parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, spoke their piece on Fox & Friends, where they rejected Zimmerman’s apology, saying they don’t believe it is “sincere”. They also said they were baffled by his remarks about the shooting being a part of what he described as “God’s plan.”

“Why would God have him kill an unarmed teenager? I mean it just makes no sense,” said Ms. Fulton.

“I don’t understand what he was thinking, saying that it was God’s plan that he murdered our child,” added Mr. Martin. “I really don’t understand what God he worships because it is not the same God I worship.”

By trying to publicly apologize now, he is just trying to save face.”

Fox are expected to broadcast a second interview with Zimmerman on Friday night (July 20th). In the meantime, you can hear what Trayvon Martin’s parents had to say below.
