TIME magazine released their annual TIME 100 list today, chronicling the 100 people from around the globe “who inspire us, entertain us, challenge us and change our world.” Grammy-winning singers Adele and Rihanna made the cut, as did Tony! Toni! Toné! frontman Raphael Saadiq.
Adding to the honor of being included in the list, each person on the TIME 100 had a glowing profile written by one of their peers: Adele’s was written by fellow crooner Pink (“Her success renews hope in me that the world I live in has good taste … I can’t wait to hear what she does next.“); Rihanna’s by fashion designer Stella McCartney (“She’s one of the coolest, hottest, most talented, most liked, most listened to, most followed, most impressive artists at work today, but she does it in her own stride.“); and Saadiq’s by legendary English rocker Elton John (“When Raphael, 45, began a solo career making albums and producing for a host of major artists, I kept a keen eye on whatever he did, hoping that one day our paths would cross musically.“).
The list also features personalities from the worlds of politics, television, technology, philanthropy, sports and more.
