Back in April we heard that Ashton Kutcher had been chosen as the man to play late Apple founder and all-around technocrat Steve Jobs in a new biopic entitled jOBS, and now we have the first picture of Kutcher in the role.
Whilst some film fans and Jobs devotees might n0t be happy with the choice, the Two and a Half Men star bears more than a passing resemblance to Jobs in his early career. In fact, this image of Kutcher in the role mirrors a specific photo taken of the creative entrepreneur when he was much younger, right down to the background poster and the style of his beard. Check out the real Jobs below:
The Joshua Michael Stern film, which is due for release some time in 2013, tells the “the true story of one of the greatest entrepreneurs in American history…”, detailing “the defining 30 years of Steve Jobs’ life…” and offering “a candid, inspiring and personal portrait of the one who saw things differently”, to quote the official listing on the Sundance Film Festival site.
Despite these grand statements, it’s not the only Jobs film in the works. Another biopic entitled Steve Jobs and directed by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network), is still in the writing phase. Stay posted for more news on both films.
