The first official clip for Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part Two has been released, and sees the ever elusive caped crusader take down a number of dangerously equipped cops.
Based on the lauded and similarly titled 1986 comic-book series by Frank Miller (Sin City, 300), the second and final part of the animated film continues the classic story, which sees a 55-year old Bruce Wayne resurface from retirement to once again take on the criminals of Gotham City, though as you can see from the clip they aren’t the only problem he has to deal with.
Joining the voice cast for this part are Michael Emerson (Lost, Person of Interest) as the Joker, Mark Valley as Superman, and Conan O’Brien as talkshow host Dave Endochrine, which may not come as a surprise to keen-eyed fans after he and seminal DC character designer Bruce Timm created The Flaming C, a superhero based on his appearance who has featured in a few online videos.
Returning are Peter Weller, best known as the original Robocop, as the voice of Batman, Ariel Winter as Robin and David Selby as Commisionor Gordon.
Check out the new clip and film trailer below, and look out for Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part Two upon it’s DVD and Blu-Ray release on January 29.
