Jaunty - "いきましょう (Let’s Go)" (prod. by K-Nite 13) | New Music

With his Once Again, One Day EP on the way, UK rapper Jaunty whets our appetites with a taster of what to expect from his upcoming Japanese tribute project. "いきましょう," pronounced ikimashō, is the first leak from the EP and sets the benchmark for what's yet to come. There's something mind captivating about music created from uncertain circumstances, and with Jaunty penning these lyrics while travelling during the tsunami earlier this year - this track is certainly no exception. Produced by K-Nite 13, the beat is a killer as the strings hit your soul while the bassline and drums kickstart your heart while Jaunty's bars depict a passionate, articulate and creative lyricist who knows how to turn a good beat into a dope tune.

Mr Drastick - "Need To Find A Wife" | Music Video

So we brought you Kinetik's "The Grace of God" video a month ago and now his partner in crime Mr Drastick has only come and kicked some soul into the hip-hop game. Now if you're familiar with these guys, you'll know that they come together to form Grand Central, a seriously fearless duo who know how to make good music. If not, check out their remix to Ms Badu's "Window Seat" - "Call Me Any Time You Like" - & see how they flip classic tunes ever so smoothly and effortlessly.

Now back to this track, taken from his EP So Many Devils - the song is all about finding that special somebody in the midst of the madness of the music industry.  Not only is the content genuine and relateable, it blends perfectly over Goapele's "Closer" instrumental.  Let's be real - making that beat work for a Hip Hop artist isn't easy especially when it's been graced by such an beautiful voice. But Mr Drastick has a knack for making things work his way and he certainly hasn't failed here. This is one hell of a chilled out tune and the video by NiteVisions reinforces his quest for love, it's so simple, yet so effective.

White Stripes cover Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long" | New Music

If Jay-Z and Kanye West's latest collaborative song, "Otis," gave you Otis Redding fever, here's a lovely gem we recently stumbled across. Whilst fans of the White Stripes would have been sad to hear that the duo have officially broken up, it's got to be nice to still hear new releases from them. Here we have a cover of "I've Been Loving You Too Long," originally by soul legend Otis Redding, and of course the lyrics are same but it has that White Stripes sound all over it. It's almost strange to not hear the original, but it just goes to show what a little creativity can do with a classic song.

Cubic Zirconia - "Take Me High" | Music Video

Cubic Zirconia have released their video for "Take Me High" , showing us what is yet to come from their upcoming LP;  Follow Your Heart due in September. The album is due to feature the likes of Bilal, DâM-FunK  and Drop The Lime, and what >Dazed & Confused call "hyped-up, sexually-charged club music that is raw, unblinkered and very fresh… the real deal.”

The song and video are interesting to say the least but it all makes sense as their label Fool's Gold state that the band, fronted by Atlanta born soul singer Tiombe Lockhart [who also directed the video], are "all about breaking genre boundaries." It's definitely an eye opener - have a look if you're brave enough!

J.Rawls talks The Hip Hop Affect and education [Video]

Out Da Box TV's latest video has us in J.Rawls mode, exploring the in's and out's of the Ohio producer's life and career. J speaks up about the concept behind his latest project The Hip Hop Affect , his boom-bap Jazz Hop production style and his and his upcoming project with Casual as well as The Liquid Crystal Project 3.

On top of all the music you get to hear about the  teaching career that he's pursued and how he's completing a doctorate. It's really inspiring to see how such a dope producer can be doing so much more than music, and yet making such crazy beats!  This is definitely a must see.

Patti LaBelle and Ledisi go 'Face to Face' to talk longevity, kindness & music [Video]

TheUrbanDaily have graced us with yet another amazing 'Face to Face' session this time with Ledisi and soul queen Patti Labelle. There's just something so beautiful about seeing Patti refer to Ledisi as her daughter and even singing along to "Pieces Of Me." It's a great watch and heart warming to see their connection alive and kicking both mentally and musically.

Stay tuned from more from their interview.

Phil Ade - A Different World [Mixtape] | Free Download

If you've been craving some new music,  D.C.'s Phil Ade has come to the rescue with the release of his latest mixtape hosted by 2dopeboyz: A Different World. If his name sounds a little unfamiliar,  the DMV emcee was the first person to be signed to Raheem DeVaughn's 368 Music Group. His 2010 release of The Letterman got his name out there and was filled with dope beats &  creative word play which did nothing but display his ability as an emcee.

Now this mixtape features production from across the board, just to name a few you've got: 9th Wonder, Oddisee, Sunny Norway & Mark Henry. We all know that no mixtape would be complete without a few solid features and he definitely doesn't fail on that either. So you can expect to hear the words and sounds of Mac Miller, Raheem DeVaughn & GLC.

It's definitely worth a listen & Phil brings a fresh sound with a tune for every mood. So sit back, relax and enjoy A Different World  and share your opinions.

Blu to release Jesus LP in August, preview "l u c k y" | New Music

If you didn't know already, LA rapper Blu's LP Jesus is set to be released on August 30 through Nature Sounds. With production by the man himself as well as 9th Wonder, Madlib and Alchemist, it's gotta sound good.

Not sure if it's going to be as good as his work with Exile, but this track "l u c k y" is a little taster of what he's got in store for us. He's got that slow, laid back flow going on and it's definitely a little different to that whole Below The Heavens sound. Oh and he's changing his name to B - I think the L and the U were causing him too much grief.

Have a look at the tracklist for B's Jesus LP, listen to the tune & share your thoughts:

Kinetik - "The Grace Of God" | Music Video

As one half of Grand Central, Kinetik is known for his realness, sense of humour and his ability to flow ever so smoothly over a beat. Now here's a chance to see a completely different side to his rhyming abilities, he's added some controversy to the equation and given us 'The Grace Of God' taken from his latest EP The Kinesis Thesis Vol.II. Kinetik uses this beautiful beat by Jeremy Arey as a platform to convey the often hypocritical nature of organised religion and effectively gets your mind questioning what religion is to you.

There's something captivating about the chilled beat being laced with such a deep and intense topic, that you can't help but pull it up for a second or third play. Moreover the aesthetically striking video by Nitevisions reinforces the topic of religion and features the other half of Grand Central, none other than Mr Drastick. The visuals work in perfect harmony with the track and add more fire to the fueled debate that Kinetik evokes lyrically. Check out the video below and share your thoughts!

Ski Beatz 24 Hour Karate School Japan, Episode 1 + more BluRoc escapades [Video]

Now if you haven't had the pleasure of hearing Ski Beatz and The Senseis performing live here's a great chance to see them in action. BluRoc.TV has treated us with a clip of them performing live in Tokyo accompanied by some seriously dope Japanese emcees with mad energy.

It's amazing to see how Ski plays on the Native Instruments Maschine ever so casually, but let's be real this is NOT for the faint hearted, the Japanese flows are nuts.  While you might not understand the lyrics other than "you know my steez," you're bound to be vibing hard to their rhymes. But this video isn't all about Ski - you've got everything from RZA on Jimmy Fallon to McKenzie Eddy and  'The Making of Silence' with Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa. Enjoy!
