What does the 38th Governor of California do after leaving office? He chases down fugitive drug dealers and cartel crime lords is what.
Arnold Schwarzenegger – aka The Terminator, aka Conan the Barbarian, aka The Kindergarten Cop – is set to make a grand, all action return to the world of film-making, starring in movies such as The Expendables 2 and The Tomb. Rolling back the years and putting on his most fearsome, mean and ass-kicking face, Arnie will also be seen at his heroic best in Jee-woon Kim‘s upcoming adrenaline-fest The Last Stand.
Featuring the likes of Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, Genesis Rodriguez, Johnny Knoxville and Jamie Alexander, the crime film is written by Andrew Knauer and captures the high stakes drama of a cops versus robbers cat and mouse chase, as a cartel boss breaks out of a courthouse, fleeing his way to the Mexican border with the brave small-town sheriff (played by Schwarzenegger) the only thing in his way.
Marking Arnie’s return and directed by South Korean film-maker Jee-woon Kim (The Good The Bad and The Weird) The Last Stand really should be a blast, touching (to some extent) on the topical issue of borders in the U-S of A. Most of all, it should kick ass.
The Last Stand is released on 18 January, 2013. Check out the trailer below.
