As Scott Pilgrim director Edgar Wright tweeted earlier this week, “All good things must come to an end.” With his Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, which began in 2004 with the seminal zombie film Shaun of the Dead, and continued in 2007 with buddy cop film Hot Fuzz, it’s been a long wait for the finale, but that wait will end in a few months when The World’s End is released.

The first teaser trailer for the film has been unveiled, and to be honest it’s a bit more… explosive than usual teasers. Named after the iconic Camden pub, The World’s End sees a group of friends reunite after 20 years to repeat an epic pub-crawl from their younger days, which leads to them taking on an alien invasion. As you can probably tell already, The Hangover this is not.

The film opens on July 19 in the UK, and August 23 in the US, and stars Rosamund Pike, Martin Freeman and Paddy Considine in addition to Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

Check out the teaser below… and shout-outs to whoever decided to use TNGHT’s recent anthem “Acrylics” in the soundtrack, the pumped-up track suits the teaser’s midnight mayhem perfectly.
