It’s been a good few days for Metal Gear Solid fans. Shortly after news of a movie starring Solid Snake being in the works, Konami has provided the proverbial icing on the cake, unveiling yet another cinematic jewel, adding to the highly successful and ridiculously cool Metal Gear franchise.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is described by veteran video game developer and creator Hideo Kojima as a “prologue”, being the “first title in the series to feature an open-world environment.”

Slated for a late 2013 release, Ground Zeroes is set to take current-generation consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360 by storm, powered by Konami’s FOX engine.

Konami’s 10 minute long debut video is typically stunning and dramatic, whetting the appetite for all things MGS.
