After spending ten years signed to signed to subsidiary labels under the Universal Records umbrella, critically acclaimed Hip hop artist Common has put pen to paper and signed a deal Warner Bros. Records.

The emcee, who has released timeless projects, such as Like Water for Chocolate and BE via deals with MCA Records and Geffen respectively, made the announcement yesterday (June 24th), during an outdoor concert in New York, by another of Warners’ recent signing, Southern Soul-Blues guitarist and singer Gary Clark Jr.

“I’m very grateful to be a part of this family, to be a part of this team,” Common told crowd in the Warner Bros. Records courtyard. “We have very inspirational, exciting music to team up with you. We’re just open to what this change can bring” Common said.
