The MOBO (Music of Black Origin) organisers have announced that R&B veterans Boyz II Men will celebrate their 20 year anniversary in the music business with a special performance at this years award ceremony, which will take place in Glasgow at the SECC on the 5th October.

As well as performing a melody of their classic hits, the group will give fans a sneak preview of songs from their forthcoming album Twenty, which is released on October 17 2011 – the LP will mark the group’s first full release of new material in ten years.

Wanya Morris, a third of the group which consists of himself, his brother Nathan and Shawn Stockman said  “We have always been fans of the MOBO Awards and to have the opportunity to perform while celebrating our 20th anniversary is not only exciting, but very humbling. We LOVE going to the UK – we are trying to find a way to stay over there and hang for a few days!”

Shawn said: “When we got asked to do the MOBO Awards, it was a quick “Oh hell yes!”

Boyz II Men join a performing line-up that already includes Jessie J, Katy B and Alexis Jordan.
