Aretha Franklin recently spoke to Access Hollywood to address widespread reports that her recent health problems were due to pancreatic cancer; “There was just so many wild things out there and just so many things being said that weren’t true. I just felt I needed to address it a little.”

Acknowledging her health scare, Franklin doesn’t share specific details of her recent illness but disputes claims of having pancreatic cancer. “I don’t know where ‘pancreatic cancer’ came from,” she states. “I was sitting there reading the newspaper and it was saying someone in my family said that.” She clarifies, “No one in my family ever said that to anybody.”

The iconic soul singer also speaks on some unfortunate concert cancellations this year in Washington, Virginia and Kansas City due to a medical procedure she had to undertake.
