With her album 21 already one of the most successful albums of all time, it’s no wonder Glastonbury boss Michael Evis wished Adele to be Glastonbury 2013’s headline act. What may be surprising however (despite the widely publicised fact that Adele has no desire for and is often uncomfortable with fame), is that the singer/songwriter has turned down the opportunity.

“She knows that we want her anyway, but she doesn’t want to do a thing our size. Going on the Pyramid Stage is a bit daunting in front of 80,000 people, it’s a bit much really,” Evis recently told Metro.

He went on to reveal that Adele was a frequent guest of the festival; “She comes every year usually, and has her own little party.”

No hints were given as to the confirmed acts for 2013.
