There is no stopping Adele on her current run on the charts. The British soul singer’s sophomore album 21 has now spent ten very well-deserved weeks at the top of the UK album charts according to The Official Charts Company and in so doing, broken the record for the longest time a record by a female solo artist has been at the top of the UK album charts. The previous record of nine weeks was held by Madonna for The Immaculate Collection in 1990.

Adele’s debut album 19 remains fixed at number two on the charts and has spent a total of 107 weeks in the UK top 40 charts, whilst on the Singles charts her latest single from 21 “Someone Like You” was knocked off the summit by Jennifer Lopez‘s new single titled, “On The Floor” which features Pitbull.

The two other singles from Adele’s 21 album, “Rolling In The Deep” and “Make You Feel My Love,” are also still in the UK Top 40 Singles chart.
